North of West is the brain-child of Chris Cosgriff, working with a limited clientele so that he can give them all the passion and dedication they deserve. With over 20 years of design, UX/UI, and coding experience, Chris became increasingly frustrated by how generic a lot of websites were becoming. Understanding that these 'vanilla' layouts were, with the best intentions, designed to make websites simpler and easier to operate, Chris couldn't help but feel that the scales had slipped too far the other way. This is compounded by other services like Wix and Squarespace. These sites offer templating solutions where people and businesses can select from a range of templates and throw their content into them. This may be acceptable for some businesses but, for businesses and especially artists with a vision, it undermines the creativity and art they have poured their life and soul into. This is exactly why North of West exists: to break free from the templates and out of the box, offering artists a strong creative presence online at an affordable cost and, in most cases, no monthly subscription fee.
